I'm (at the time of writing) a 43 year old Englishman, with a passion for Astronomy. I'm very happily married to Antoinette and between us we have three kids: Kiera (9), Leah (12) and Christian (22) - not to forget the Dog - Loui - a Black Labrador (not so much now) Pup.

I've always been fascinated by Astronomy - from the age of about 10, when my parents bought presents of books and eventually a 60mm scope. I guess I must have been kind of persistent... ;o)

This passion has stayed with me throughout life, ~ being of a fairly scientific persuasion I studied Physics, Electronics and Astronomy at University (Sheffield 1981-1984) but always enjoyed the Astronomy side most. I wish I had stayed with the Astronomy as a career but things never work out as you expect and I have ended up working in IT for an American Computer Company Called CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation

Astronomy  - I guess this bit will be best covered in the astronomy page - but I'm into Astrophotography and eventually want to start hunting for comets / NEO's etc.

Blast Physics  - Its the big kid in me - I started off with a chemistry set (vivid memories of hydrogen capture and subsequent explosions) and finished with working for Royal Ordnance - the UK prime explosives manufacturer. I was heavily involved in the numerical simulation of Blast effects - basically computer modeling of explosions and whatever they are near - eventually running a sub business investigating methods to resist accidental explosions and terrorist attacks. This used software including BombCAD. I still do some consultancy and safety training from time to time.

Photography When I was at Uni' I started to get into Photography - mainly the dark room side. I still dabble in Black and white film photography - but my interests have largely migrated to astrophotography using CCDs.
