Photopgraphy I have been interested in Photography for many years now - starting from my time at University. I was introduced to wet film work, including hyper-sensitisation, developing and printing, as part of my Astronomy studies and not long after got my first camera. Before too long I was running one of the college dark rooms - mainly as a way of reducing the costs of my hobby. As with all things - my activities reduced as the family came along, apart from the usual snaps, holiday shots and occasional arty attempts at night time photography. I have now got back into the hobby as I am becoming much more active in home based Astrophotography - and still occasionally do develop Black and White film - but more often than not - its digital. My equipment:Cameras Nikon N6006 Nikon FA I used to use the 6006 as a general purpose camera, its AF with all the usual Program modes (shutter and aperture priority) and manual override - but its now largely redundant - I should sell it really. I bought the FA 2nd hand as an astrophotography camera - its bulb modes uses no battery power so its ideal for long exposures in the cold, also it has mirror lock up and a viewfinder blind. However, I've found myself using the FA exclusively as I like its solid feel, full feature set and general purpose reliability. Panasonic Lumix DMC LC50 - This is a compact and lightweight 3-megapixel camera that features a high quality Leica DC-VARIO ELMARIT all-glass aspherical 3x optical zoom lens.
I have a selection of lenses: 24mm f2, 50mm f1.8 AF, 135mm F2.8, 70-200 zoom, 500mm F8 mirror and a 2x teleconvertor. Have a look at the Photo Albums section for some piccies - mainly digitised images - either using my Agfa Snapscan e50 flat bed scanner with transmission (film / slide) scan option or via the Developers scanner during processing. |
